8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you upload or write. You allow IHAE to store and show it as needed to run the service, for example showing a tutor's profile and photo or delivering a message.
The ground rules for families and tutors using IHAE.
By creating an account or using ihaelearning.com, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy. If you're using IHAE for a student under 18, you agree on their behalf and are responsible for their use of the account.
Sending a request (Get Started, or a time on a tutor's profile) doesn't book anything by itself. The tutor you pick accepts or declines within 48 hours (never later than the time you asked for); when they accept, your first session is booked. If you don't pick a tutor, or for the Launch Program, IHAE matches you.
After a first Marketplace session you choose whether to continue every week at the same time. Weekly sessions keep being scheduled until you or the tutor stop them. Sessions are online and one-on-one. The IHAE Launch Program runs for about three months with one 90-minute session a week.
Prices, cancellations and refunds are on our Pricing & policy page, and each tutor's rate is on their profile. Both are part of these terms.
Be respectful and honest. In particular, don't:
IHAE may review messages when needed for support or safety, and remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. To report a problem, use the flag button in that chat, message the IHAE team, or email josephkim@ihaelearning.com. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 first.
Your profile must be truthful. IHAE verifies your education and experience, and may require a background check before you teach students. We decide which applicants are selected and may hide or remove a profile. Keep student information private, use it only for their sessions, and keep sessions and messages on IHAE.
Tutors are independent contractors, not IHAE employees: you set your own hours and rate. When tutor payouts are available, your share of what each family pays is sent through Stripe after the session. You're responsible for your own taxes, and IHAE or Stripe may issue tax forms (such as a 1099) as the law requires.
Only families who have had a completed session with a tutor can review them, once per tutor (you can edit or delete it). Reviews show your first name and last initial. IHAE never pays for reviews or asks for positive ones, and doesn't remove a review because it's negative.
We hide a review only if it:
Hidden reviews don't count toward the tutor's rating. Questions about a review: message the IHAE team.

IHAE provides tutoring and educational support. Student Wellness content is educational, and is not therapy, counseling, diagnosis or medical advice.
We work hard to choose good tutors and keep IHAE running, but we can't guarantee particular results, grades or test scores, or that the site will always be available. To the extent the law allows, IHAE isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.
We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and tell account holders by email when a change is significant. Questions: josephkim@ihaelearning.com.
